It's also intuitively designed for the iPhone and iPad and is among the best at navigation on both devices. But can you set it as the default browser and ditch Safari for good?
If you've used an iPhone or an iPad for some time, you probably tried setting Chrome as the default browser and failed. Apple just didn't allow that to protect its own native Safari browser.
But with iOS 14 and iPadOS 14, the Cupertino-based tech giant has finally knocked that wall down. That means you can easily make Chrome (or any other supported web browser such as Firefox) the default browser on your iOS or iPadOS device.
What You Need
To set Chrome as the default browser on the iPhone and iPad, you must have iOS 14 or iPadOS 14 installed. If you haven't done that already, head over to Settings > General > Software Update to perform the upgrade. Compatible devices include the iPhone SE, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPad Air 2, and newer.
